Adventure Film Festival Reviews 2

As I stated in my earlier post, I went to night 2 of the AFF solo, Morgan was working. Thankfully these 2 couples had left the critical spacing seat in between them, and a loner like me was able to slide right in. Also, it was $3 pint night, winner! So, without further commentary, here were the films.

I apologize that I have not reviewed them yet, it’s been a crazy week getting ready for Haiti and I haven’t had time. Promise to do so the week after Christmas, if anyone still cares then.

I missed it, talking to my brother about life and college. Here is the film, I’ll watch it myself soon.

Return of the Champions

Return of The Champions Trailer from 614 Films (Rod Murphy) on Vimeo.

A good short film documenting local Asheville ultrarunner Will Harlan, and his race at the 2009 Copper Canyon Ultra. Born to Run fans will recognize this race as the scene of the thrilling climax to the end of the book, with Tarahumara champ Arnulfo beating out Scott Jurek. Will was able to best even Arnulfo at the 2009, but he said what was most important about his time in Mexico was seeing the simplicity that the Tarahumara lived in, and it inspired him to live a simpler life when he got back home. Will is currently training for the 2012 Copper Canyon.
